Welcome to Roberts PTO!
Welcome back to all returning families and huge WELCOME to all new families. I am glad you are here! This is my 7th year as a Roberts parent. Our sons are in fourth grade and second grade and our daughter is starting middle school. I am excited to be serving as Roberts PTO President!

PTO stands for “Parent/Teacher Organization”. Our group truly is a collaboration of Roberts parents, administration, teachers and staff, dedicated to providing support to our school. The work done through the PTO, of which you are all a part, enhances the learning experience of every student at the school.

We at Roberts are lucky to have wonderful teachers and staff dedicated to guiding our children through their elementary school experience. One of Roberts’ great strengths is our teachers. Having great teachers is a privilege and a partnership; the PTO is an important piece of that partnership.

So, how can you make a difference and get involved? Here are a few easy ways:

Volunteer – For the PTO to be effective and truly representative of the school, everyone’s participation is essential. Many parents feel that they cannot participate in the PTO because they cannot come to meetings or be at school on a regular basis. There is something for everyone! We want everyone to feel that they are part of the Roberts Community. Whether you have 30 minutes a day or 30 minutes a month, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed. We can match your time constraints and interests to the right committee. Throughout the year opportunities will become available for the many events we have at Roberts. Please go to robertspto.org to check some of them out and reach out to committee chairs or myself to help. My e-mail is [email protected].

“Culture of Giving” Campaign – Support your PTO by making a contribution to the annual fundraising campaign. Whether it be $10 or $500 or $5000, all donations are welcome. We want all families to participate! Your annual contribution is fully tax deductible and goes straight into supporting the education of every child in the school.

Your donation brings enrichment programming into our classrooms, funds technology improvements throughout the school, supports teacher training, maintains our grounds, and so much more! Watch for more information in the coming weeks. The campaign runs September 10-October 1.

Attend a PTO Meeting – There are so many fun ways to get involved. We hope that you will attend the first PTO meeting of the year on Friday, September 7. Meetings start at 7:40am and finish by 8:40am and are held in the Roberts Café’. Meetings are the first Friday of every month. If you can’t attend, check the PTO website for meeting minutes.

Be in the Know – Check out the Roberts PTO website robertspto.org for an amazing amount of information! You will find details on upcoming events, subscribe to our e-newsletter, the Front Page, submit your contact information to the Directory and sign up to follow us online through Facebook and Twitter. Check back frequently as it is always being updated!

On behalf of the Roberts PTO, I would like to welcome you to Roberts and thank you for your support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Have a wonderful school year, and I look forward to seeing you around the school.
